2000 KM WITHOUT A HITCH UNTIL... THE FALL!

Hello G-RideRz! 

As I often say, for me, "Luck is not about not having an accident, it's about having one and coming out unscathed!"

Brief presentation of the "Hero" of the story: 

• NAME: Nodz
• AGE: 37 years
• HIGHLIGHT: GyroRideRz web developer
• GYROROUE : INMOTION V8
• DISTANCE TRAVELLED: 2400 km at the time this article was written
• EQUIPMENT: Iron JIA's Gloves, Retro Wristband and West Biking Helmet

And yes, anything can happen! Even after more than 2000 km without any problems, a fall can occur, and it is our good old developer Nodz who illustrated himself in this example which could have ended much worse.

The following story is based on real events (only the times are approximate) : 

• 12.30 Nodz goes to lunch at a McDonald's with one of her friends.
• 13:45 After a slightly longer break than usual, it's time to split up. A bit late, Nodz knows he'll have to push the pedal a bit but he's used to it with his 2400 km of experience. Especially since,like the good geek that he is, he couldn't help but hack it .His unlocked V8 is currently doing 37-40km/h, The Beast is Unleashed.
• 13h50 Nodz is driving hard in a downhill... 

The cycle path is isolated from cars and the Tram, so he has free rein. On his right, he looks at the Tram and thinks that it is going as fast as he is! A class act! Or not ...

• 13:51 The Tram has passed Nodz ... Why? Because Nodz has just taken a nasty fall and is down! He leaned too far to avoid being overtaken by the Tram, fighting against the Tilt Back of his V8 and the beeps of his V8 telling him to slow down, until he reached the breaking point. His V8 cut out, sending him crashing to the pavement!
• 13:52 Nodz gets up a bit shocked because he didn't think that this kind of fall could have happened to him and notices the damage, despite his protections!

 

• 13:54 He climbs back on his V8 as best he can. Although he's in a very bad way, he's happy to be doing so well, and thinks that he'll have to improve his equipment significantly. On the way back, he is in agony as every imperfection on the road is felt in his stomach wound.
• 13:59 He arrives at the office, bandages himself and swears that he will be more careful in the future! Now he knows that it's not just happening to others.

Moral of this story:

Protect yourself! When you see the state of Nodz's gloves, there is no doubt that if he hadn't had them, he wouldn't have any skin on his hands now! As for the rest, he's doing really well, because a fall in the middle of a descent at more than 30 km/h could have been really tragic. 

Equip yourself according to your speed! What's the point of equipping yourself if you're going to do it badly? A V8 is not designed to go faster than 30 km/h. When Nodz chose to unlock it, he should have changed his equipment, which was no longer adapted to a speed higher than 35 km/h. That's quite a feat for someone in charge of a site whose motto is SAFETY!
