You're in luck, today the choice of alternative electric vehicles is very wide, with models of each type capable of exceeding 35km/h without difficulty and with a range of around 30 kilometres.

How do you make the right choice? We will try to help you answer this question.

THE GYROROUES

Advantages:
 - A very pleasant taste of science fiction
- Compact enough to be carried everywhere (cinema, work, restaurants ...) which reduces the risk of theft since you would have to steal it with...
- Ultra manoeuvrable in a crowd, when you control
- Ability to negotiate almost any type of kerb with a little practice
- Gets the admiration of passers-by who wonder if you are not coming directly from the future
- Sensations beyond measure. It's simply indescribable, today some wheels happily exceed 50km/h. At this speed, the sensation of flying is unparalleled, and thrill seekers will not be disappointed.
INMOTION V8
Disadvantages:
 - Depending on the model, it can take a very long time to get used to.
It takes a good week of intensive practice to start feeling comfortable in crowds and traffic, to be able to stop at a traffic light and then start again without support.
 - The price. There are entry-level models under 300€, and having started myself at the time on one of these models, they are to be avoided like the plague. Learning is more difficult and you tend to develop bad riding habits to compensate for the stability defects of these wheels.
Worse, it may even persuade some people that they won't be able to do it, whereas with a good model they wouldn't have had any problems. Count on a minimum budget of about 650/750€ for a good wheel to start with. The best in the field today is without a doubt theINMOTION V8.
- Falls. Beware of falls, if you are not properly equipped, and indeed even if you are, falls can be very, very painful. You are generally thrown out of your wheel without knowing where you will end up, nor if your wheel will not come to finish its race on your body strewn on the ground. We can't repeat it enough, ride equipped!
- Range. Apart from the very top of the range where some can reach 80-90 km of autonomy, count on 20 to 25 km on average for the majority of the models
- A backpack is almost mandatory if you have a few things to carry

E-SCOOTERS

Advantages:
- Quick start. First time or not, count 15 to 30 minutes of learning to be completely at ease with the turns and the rest. For a total novice, it's hard to beat the ease of access.
- Many models are now foldable and can therefore be carried with you everywhere, just like the wheels.
- Safety. The scooter is the least dangerous of the four means of transport presented here because you can put both feet on the ground very quickly in case of danger.
- The range. Count on 20km for the entry level to 40km for the top of the range with, unlike the wheels, the possibility of finishing your journey by using it as a normal scooter. Running out of fuel is therefore not too detrimental.
- The price. You can find decent scooters for around €350 quite easily. Double that for high-end models like the NINEBOT ES4
- The ability to carry a shopping bag or other items on your feet is a big plus of scooters
- On some models you can go up to 2 without any problem

Disadvantages:
- Manoeuvring. You won't be able to go everywhere when going up curbs as you would when wheeling. For example, scooters require a minimum of space and anticipation to make a U-turn.

- Acceleration. Apart from a few top-of-the-range models, the velocity of scooters when starting up will not make you experience extraordinary sensations. However, the top speed reaches an average of 35km for many models.

- Weight. Between 10 and 15kg, so if you have a lot of stairs in your daily commute, think twice.

E-SKATES

Advantages:
- Easier to handle than a normal skateboard. Count 1 to 2 hours of learning for the less gifted among you.
- Handling. Once you've mastered it, it's the most manageable, you can do almost anything with it. There are now off-road models for thrill-seekers like the TG-MONSTER OFF ROAD.
- The thrill. As with the wheel, some models are capable of reaching 50km/h to give you some interesting thrills.
- The price. You can find decent models from 300€.
- Ease of transport. It is the most practical of all to transport, it is a featherweight compared to the others, "only" 4kg on average.
- Range. An average of 30km and the possibility to drive it in normal mode in case of a dry run.

Disadvantages:

- Not facing the road can be very confusing
- You can't carry much with you
- Safety. As with wheels, the risk of accidents is greater and more serious in the case of falls.

E-BIKES

Advantages:
- Immediate familiarity for anyone who knows how to ride a bike
- Health benefits. EABs (electrically assisted bicycles) do not eliminate the action of pedalling.
- Real travel comfort. With a good quality saddle, you are seated and ready for long journeys.
- Easy to carry all kinds of things, with the possibility of adding a basket in the front or in the back.
- Average speed when unbridled of 30-35km/h

Disadvantages:
- The price. Under 900€ it is difficult to find a bike that is reliable over time.
- The weight. On average 20 to 25kg, so it is not easy to walk around with it when you are not on it.
- The risk of theft. No lock can resist a really motivated and well-equipped thief. Securing your bike in town means exposing yourself to theft and all sorts of damage. Beware of saddle theft, which is becoming increasingly frequent. It is therefore best to systematically dismantle your saddle and battery and take them with you.
